The present disclosure relates in part to compositions and methods for thetreatment of bone, including impaired bone such as fractured bone, diseasedbone,weakened bone, and bone susceptible to increased load, such as increasedcompensatory load. These compositions and methods facilitate bone formationandstrengthen bone. The present invention provides for the use of thecompositions of thepresent invention for treatment of bone. The present invention also providesfor theuse of the compositions of the present invention in the preparation of amedicamentuseful for treatment of bone. In an embodiment, the composition comprises abiocompatible matrix and a solution comprising platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF).
