The present compounds are useful as therapeutics acting peripherally and centrally in the conditions of inappropriate secretion of vasopressin, anxiety, depressive disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, autistic spectrum disorders, schizophrenia, aggressive behavior and phase shift sleep disorders, in particular jetlag.本發明提供可充當V1a受體調節劑且尤其是V1a受體拮抗劑之螺-唑酮、其等製造、含有其等之醫藥組合物，及其等作為藥劑之用途。本發明化合物適用作在升壓素不當分泌、焦慮症、抑鬱症、強迫症、自閉症系列障礙、精神分裂症、攻擊性行為及相移睡眠障礙(尤其時差)之病狀中起周邊性地及中樞性地作用的治療劑。
