The biological vegetation element comprises a carrier layer (12) which consists of non-woven material and is sprayed with a biomass (14) as the nutrient medium for low plants. The result is a finished element, on the biomass-penetrated surface of which moss (16) grows. The finished vegetation element can be stuck, in a manner comparable to wall-papering, onto surfaces to be vegetated, such as facades or the like.
