Provided is a hair styling product composition that exhibits excellent initial hair styling performance, that minimizes the occurrence of flaking and stickiness, that gathers hair together in a supple manner, that maintains styled hair, and that makes it possible to improve the washing out thereof after hair styling. The hair styling product composition comprises: 0.1-10 mass% of particles that are selected from the group consisting of silica, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, hydroxyapatite, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, calcium silicate, magnesium silicate, aluminum silicate, and magnesium hydroxide； a compound that is selected from the group consisting of monosaccharides, disaccharides, and sugar alcohols； polyethylene glycol that has a number average molecular weight of 150-450； polyethylene glycol that has a number average molecular weight of 550-2,000； and polyethylene glycol that has a number average molecular weight of 2,500-4,000.
