Provided is a hair styling composition that makes it possible to suppress the occurrence of flaking and stickiness when hair has been styled and to enhance the initial styling power for shaping the hair and the styling holding power after the hair has been shaped. This hair styling composition contains specific content amounts of: particles (component A) selected from the group consisting of silica, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, hydroxyapatite, titanium oxide, zinc oxide, calcium silicate, magnesium silicate, aluminum silicate, and magnesium hydroxide a compound (component B) selected from the group consisting of polyoxyethylene/polyoxypropylene random copolymers having a number-average molecular weight of from 10,000 to 20,000, and polyoxypropylene sorbitol having a number-average molecular weight of from 300 to 1,000 and an acrylic copolymer (component C) obtained by using diacetoneacrylamide as an essential monomer component.
