The present invention provides a cosmetic composition having a cosmeticallyacceptable vehicle and one or more gap junction inhibitors and/or one or morecholine acetyl transferase (CAT) inhibitors in an amount effective forreducing the appearance of deep wrinkles on the skin. Also provided is amethod of reducing the appearance of deep wrinkles on the skin, including thesteps of topically applying to the skin the above cosmetic composition in anamount and for a period of time sufficient to reduce the appearance of deepwrinkles on the skin.
