The present invention relates to a method of treating HER2/NEU overexpressing cancers. The inventors discovered that the heme-mediated formation of dimers and in general oligomers of Trastuzumab is associated with an improved complement-mediated cytotoxicity on breast cancer cells. The present data highlight that the sensitivity to heme of Trastuzumab, may have major repercussion on its therapeutic activity. Thus the invention relates to the combination of an HER2/neu antibody with a heme and/or of its oligomers and its therapeutic composition in the HER2/NEU characteristic cancer treatment.La présente invention concerne une méthode de traitement des cancers surexprimant HER2/NEU. Les inventeurs ont découvert que la formation de dimères médiée par l'hème et en général dans des oligomères de Trastuzumab est associée à une cytotoxicité médiée par le complément améliorée sur les cellules du cancer du sein. Les présentes données soulignent que la sensibilité à l'hème du Trastuzumab peut avoir une repercussion majeure sur son activité thérapeutique. Ainsi, l'invention concerne la combinaison d'un anticorps HER2/neu avec un hème et/ou de ses oligomères, et sa composition thérapeutique dans le traitement du cancer caractéristique HER2/NEU.
