The present invention relates to a system for neuromodulation (10), especially for facilitating cardiovascular function of a subject, comprising- at least a stimulation controller (12),- at least a stimulation pattern storage means (14), which is connected to stimulation controller (12) and which comprises stimulation data (SD),- at least an electrical stimulation device (16),- at least an electrical interface (18) between the electrical stimulation device (16) and the subject, the electrical interface (18) being connectable with at least an bio-interface (20) of or with the nervous system of the subject, wherein the electrical interface (18) and the bio-interface (20) are arranged such that signals and/or data can be exchanged from the electrical interface (18) to the bio-interface (20), preferably also vice versa,wherein the stimulation data (SD) are pre-programmed patterns, which comprise at least- a spatial component (SC), which is related to the part of the nervous system being stimulated- a temporal component (TC), which is related to the time at which each spatial component mentioned above is applied.and wherein the stimulation controller (12) is capable to send configuration signals on the basis of the stimulation data (SD) to the electrical stimulation device (16) such that via the electrical interface (18) electrical stimulation can be provided to the bio-interface (20), wherein the electrical stimulation provided is characterized by stimulation parameters that vary over time in a pre-programmed manner.
