The reef has an ecological box (1) consisting of flat or curved walls made of flexible, semi-rigid or rigid solid plastic sheets or concrete slabs, where the box is perforated and filled with soft sand or gravel. The box includes a tapered ceiling (6) positioned at acute angle of about 3 to 25 degrees for generating a narrow space (4) of a shelter.
