PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a femoral head component for use in a hip resurfacing treatment.SOLUTION: A hip resurfacing femoral component 110 is designed to be used with a prepared femur. The hip resurfacing femoral component 110 comprises a head portion 112 which has a substantially spherical outwardly facing bearing surface and an attachment surface 111 opposing the bearing surface of the head portion 112. The femoral component further comprises a skirt portion 121 with an outer skirt surface 124 which is suspended from the substantially spherical bearing surface 111 and an inner skirt surface 123.
