PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for performing posterior capsulotomy without damaging the anterior hyaloid surface.SOLUTION: A system for performing laser-assisted surgery on an eye having the Berger's space located between the posterior surface of the lens capsule and the anterior hyaloid surface comprises a laser source, an integrated optical system, and a controller. The laser source produces a treatment beam comprising laser pulses. The integrated optical system comprises an imaging assembly coupled to a treatment laser delivery assembly. The imaging assembly and the treatment laser delivery assembly share an optical element. The integrated optical system is configured to image target the posterior surface of the lens capsule and the anterior hyaloid surface and direct a focal spot of the treatment beam in three-dimensional patterns.
