PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of deactivating allergen at high efficiency and further capable of deactivating allergen even in a general life space.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for deactivating allergen where allergen is irradiated with ultraviolet light whose peak wavelength lies in the range of 200 to 253 nm, and the allergen is deactivated by the irradiation.
