The present invention relates to a hydrogel and a production method thereof. According to the present invention, the hydrogel can be gelated without side reactions, when injecting the same into the body, owing to a fast reaction involving a thioether bond between thiol group-containing albumin and polyethylene glycol (PEG) having terminal maleimide and additional four arms. More specifically, by filling protein drugs into the hydrogel, the adhesion of the drug in the hydrogel is avoided, thereby preventing drug release.
