The centrally-controlled brake system (1) comprises a base frame (11), at least one caster (12) mounted on the bottom of the base frame (11), a transmission main shaft (14), a brake assembly (13), and a transmission assembly (15). The brake assembly (13) is used for controlling rotation of the transmission main shaft (14). The transmission assembly (15) is connected between the transmission main shaft (14) and the caster (12). The brake assembly (13) comprises a pedal member (131), an elastic member (132), a brake connection rod (134), and a ratchet assembly (133). The ratchet assembly (133) comprises a ratchet block (1331) fixed on the base frame (11) and a ratchet pawl (1332) connected to the other end of the brake connection rod (134). The ratchet block (1331) comprises a sealed annular track groove. A first stop position and a second stop position are arranged in the track groove. The pedal member (131) drives the ratchet pawl (1332) to circularly move between the first stop position and the second stop position in the track groove along a single direction. The centrally-controlled brake system (1) can implement a function of braking by pedaling the pedal member (131) and the caster (12), and a function of releasing braking by again pedaling the pedal member (131) and the caster (12).
