An arrangement for determining a body condition score of an animal (50)comprises a three-dimensional camerasystem (51) directed towards the animal and provided for recording at leastone three-dimensional image of the animal； and an imageprocessing device (52) connected to the three-dimensional camera system (51)and provided for forming a three-dimensionalsurface representation of a portion of the animal from the three-dimensionalimage recorded by the three-dimensional camera system(51)； for statistically analyzing the surface of the three-dimensional surfacerepresentation； and for determining the body conditionscore of the animal based on the statistically analyzed surface of the three-dimensional surface representation.
