The invention proposes a method for obtaining a saliva sample from an animal, particularly a pig, by means of a receiving device and a collecting device with an integrated filter, and the use of a collecting device with an integrated filter for obtaining a saliva sample from an animal, particularly a pig. In addition, it proposes a collecting device comprising a bag, a removable container and a filter, and a kit having such a collecting device, and a receiving device for taking saliva from an animal, particularly a pig.
