This invention provides a process for producing a microbial biomass comprising: a) providing a mixed population of microorganisms comprising micro algae and bacteria b) adding a carbon source to the mixed population of microorganisms c) adding a nitrogen source to the mixed population of microorganisms d) culturing the mixed population of microorganisms under conditions suitable for the growth of both the microalgae and bacteria to form a microbial biomass and e) harvesting the microbial biomass. This invention also provides a microbial biomass, a feed product or ingredient, uses of microbial biomass and feed product or ingredient and a method of rearing an aquatic species using the microbial biomass and feed product or ingredient of this invention.Cette invention porte sur un procédé pour la fabrication dune biomasse microbienne comprenant les opérations consistant à : a) se procurer une population mixte de microorganismes comprenant des microalgues et des bactéries b) ajouter une source de carbone à la population mixte de microorganismes c) ajouter une source dazote à la population mixte de microorganismes d) mettre en culture la population mixte de microorganismes dans des conditions appropriées pour le développement à la fois des microalgues et des bactéries pour former une biomasse microbienne et e) récolter la biomasse microbienne.
