It is described a mesh structure in the form of a gauze, net, cloth, screen, grid or fabric on to which one or more agents are provided comprising WHO-recommended insecticides effective against mosquitoes and other flying insects and/or an insect growth regulator effective against larvae and/or adults, such as pyriproxyfen effective against mosquito larvae and/or a fungus, such as Beauveria bassiana, and/or Metarhizium anisopliae, and/or an intensifying agent, such as non-synthetic or synthetic silica, or diatomaceous earth which dissolves upon contact with the cuticula of target pests. The mesh structure has parts with differing mesh widths, whereby the agents are provided on the mesh structure part, which has a larger mesh width. The parts of the mesh structure have different aspects to enhance the attractiveness: colours and/or contrasts, odours and/or physical parameters (like temperature), and hair-like structures or contact surface enhancing features for effectively attracting and exposing target pests, such as malaria mosquitoes.
