A universal, robust, cost effective, portable kennel and pet safety enclosure for use in vehicles which distributes deceleration forces across as large an area of the pets body as possible and gently arrests the forward motion of a pet to protect them from bodily harm in the event of a sudden vehicle deceleration event and which may also be used outside of vehicles as a portable kennel. The enclosure also protects the vehicle interior from smells, stains, or scratching caused by a pet.
