PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walk type mower having a compact transmission system for transmitting the engine driving power to a reaping blade and a wheel.SOLUTION: In a walk type mower, an output shaft 17 extended downwardly for transmitting the driving power of an engine 3 and a reaping blade driving shaft 31 coupled to a reaping blade 11 and extended upwardly, are aligned in parallel. Gear mechanisms 36 and 37 having a flat gear are disposed across the output shaft 17 and the reaping blade driving shaft 31, and the driving power of the output shaft 17 is transmitted to the reaping blade driving shaft 31 through the gear mechanisms 36 and 37. A travel transmission shaft 18 for transmitting the driving power to a wheel 7 is aligned laterally so that it intersects with the output shaft 17, and a warm gear mechanism 19 are disposed across the output shaft 17 and a travel transmission shaft 18, thus transmitting the driving power of the output shaft 17 to the travel transmission shaft 18 via the warm gear mechanism 19.
