PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an antimicrobial acrylic fiber excellent in dye affinity and durability.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an antimicrobial acrylic fiber in which an acrylic fiber containing an anionic copolymer component of 0.60 mass% or more and 2.10 mass% or less is impregnated into a treatment liquid containing a quaternary ammonium salt as an antibacterial agent component and the quaternary ammonium salt is ion exchanged with the anionic copolymer component to adhere the antibacterial agent component onto the fiber.
