PROCESS FOR PRODUCING MULTIFUNCTIONAL TITANIUM SURFACES FOR REDUCING THE RISK OF INFECTION AND INCREASED BONE INTEGRATION AND PRODUCT MADE THROUGH SUCH PROCESS
A process is described for producing a multi¬ functional surface, in particular for reducing the risk of infection and for a quicker bone integration, through a modification treatment of the surface made, of titanium or a titanium alloy, comprising the steps of acid etching (a) for removing the native oxide present on the surface preparation of a solution of hydrogen peroxide and of an anti-bacterial agent (b) and oxidation of the surface of titanium or a titanium alloy with the above solution (c), in order to enrich the surface of the anti-bacterial agent, generate a characteristic surface topography (macro, micro e nano roughness) and hydroxyl groups linked to the surface, wherein the surface oxidation step c) is performed in order to avoid the surface re- passivation when passing from acid etching step a) to oxidation step c). A product made through such process is further described.
