The electrode catheter is obtained by providing a main catheter body (10), a control handle (20), catheter tips (31-34) that extend from the leading end of the main catheter body (10) and electrodes that are mounted ON each of the catheter tips (31-34). The catheter tips (31-34) are substantially linear and the angles? between the directions in which the various catheter tips (31-34) extend and the main catheter body (10) is 100-140. Using said electrode catheter: injury to the inner cardiac wall by the leading ends of the catheter tips does not occur even when a pressing force in the axial direction of the main catheter body acts ON the inner cardiac wall it is possible to confirm contact of the electrodes, mounted ON the catheter tips and with the inner cardiac wall by X-ray imaging and the catheter tips can be reliably gathered from inside the body without being snagged ON the edge of the sheath opening.
