Disclosed is a device for causing the transdermal flux of a permeant into asubject via at least one formed pathway through a skin layer of the subject.The device comprises a delivery reservoir comprising: i) a non-biodegradablematrix having a bottom surface and defining a plurality of conduits thereinthe matrix, at least a portion of the plurality of conduits being incommunication with the bottom surface； and ii) an undissolved hydrophilicpermeant disposed therein at least a portion of the plurality of conduits ofthe matrix, wherein the hydrophilic permeant can come in contact withsubcutaneous fluid from the subject when the bottom surface of the matrix ispositioned in fluid communication with the at least one formed pathway. Alsodisclosed are systems and methods for causing the transdermal flux of apermeant into a subject via at least one formed pathway through a skin layerof the subject.
