The present invention provides a binding machine for gardening which can reduce a load at the time of a handle operation by reducing a load related to an operation of a lock member of a tape gripping apparatus. Specifically, the tape gripping apparatus (35) comprises: a support portion (36) which is provided along a drawing direction of a tape (60)； a gripping member (37) which is provided so as to face the support portion (36)； a gripping member biasing means (38) which biases the gripping member (37) toward the support portion (36)； a lock member (39) which is engaged with the gripping member (37) to hold the gripping member (37) in a standby position against biasing force of the gripping member biasing means (38)； and a lock member biasing means (40) which biases the lock member (39) in an engaging direction with the gripping member (37). The lock member (39) is rotatably attached to a clincher arm (30).
