The invention relates to a device for separating particles, in particular amalgam, from a fluid, which device comprises:- a housing with an inlet opening and an outlet opening and- a sedimentation body having a plurality of channels extending between the inlet opening and the outlet opening, each channel is provided with a plurality of barrier elements for providing sedimentation zones in the channel.
