PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for planting a cutting, enabling a plant to root well and hardly cause root rot, enabling a cutting to be firmly held, and making it possible for a user to transplant the plant with a pot after taking its root. SOLUTION: This method for planting a cutting comprises the following process: charging a square pot 1 made from a biodegradable polymer with a medium 3 comprising vermiculite 3c for an intermediate layer, and rock wools 3a and 3b each for upper and lower layers, and thrusting a plant stem 7 down into the rock wool 3a for the upper layer so as to reach the vermiculite 3c.
