PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid injection device that can provide stable liquid injection from right after being started, and to provide a method for controlling the liquid injection device.SOLUTION: A liquid injection device includes: a pulsating flow generation part 20 that injects liquid in a pulse-shape a liquid supply part 10 that pumps liquid by periodical drive and supplies liquid to the pulsating flow generation part 20 a pressure variation absorbing part 5 that absorbs a pressure variation by a volume change in liquid disposed between the pulsating flow generation part 20 and the liquid supply part 10 and a driving control part 15 that performs drive and control of the pulsating flow generation part 20 and the liquid supply part 10 based on a designated flow rate.
