PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing strong magnetic iron oxide particles and the like having excellent heat generation characteristics, excellent in dispersion stability of media for injection, and suitable for cancer cautery treatment.SOLUTION: A method includes dispersing iron hydroxide particles and/or hematite particles into polyhydric alcohol and heat treatment. Strong magnetic iron oxide particles can be obtained by using reducing power of the polyhydric alcohol according to the invention.
