To downsize a spinning reel in the axis direction of the handle shaft and while downsizing in the front and behind direction of the reel body.
SOLUTION: A spinning reel for fishing comprises: a handle shaft 4 connected with the handle 5 and prepared in the reel body 1 to rotate a spool shaft 9 with which the spool 3 is attached at the front end and with which the sliding body 7 was attached at the rear end and an oscillating mechanism converting through the sliding body 7 the rotational motion of the handle shaft 4 into the reciprocating motion in the front and behind direction along the axis of the spool shaft 9. The spinning reel further comprises: an inserting part 20 equipped at the rear end of the reel body 1 and receiving a part of the sliding body 7, when the spool shaft 9 moves to the rearmost position and at least either in the insertion part 20 or the sliding body 7, and an introducing means which introduces into the insertion part 20 the sliding body 7 moving to the rear end.
