In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a dry, flowable and compressible composition, useful as a pharmaceutical excipient, which composition comprises a mixture of hydrophobic and hydrophilic poly(ethylene oxide) -poly(propylene oxide) -poly(ethylene oxide) block copolymers, and which possesses a Carr index of less than about 20.
