An ingestible apparatus for collecting samples from a target area of a gastrointestinal tract of a human or mammal and/or for delivering a health-related substance thereto. The ingestible apparatus has a housing comprising at least one first port and at least a volume-changeable first compartment communicable with the at least one first port, an actuation assembly for changing the volume of the first compartment for collecting the samples and/or discharging the health-related substance through the at least one first port, a delay structure for delaying the actuation assembly to change the volume of the first compartment until the ingestible apparatus is at or about the target area, and a circuit structure for detecting arrival of the ingestible apparatus at the target area and for detecting an end of the sample collecting and/or the health-related-substance discharging.L'invention concerne un appareil ingérable pour collecter des échantillons à partir d'une zone cible d'un tractus gastro-intestinal d'un être humain ou d'un mammifère et/ou pour administrer une substance liée à la santé à celui-ci. L'appareil ingérable présente un boîtier comprenant au moins un premier orifice et au moins un premier compartiment modifiable en volume pouvant communiquer avec ledit au moins un premier orifice, un ensemble d'actionnement pour modifier le volume du premier compartiment pour collecter les échantillons et/ou faire sortir la substance liée à la santé à travers ledit au moins un premier orifice, une structure de retard pour retarder la modification de volume du premier compartiment par l'ensemble d'actionnement jusqu'à ce que l'appareil ingérable soit au niveau ou à proximité de la zone cible et une structure de circuit pour détecter l'arrivée de l'appareil ingérable au niveau de la zone cible et pour détecter une fin de la collecte d'échantillon et/ou de la sortie de la substance liée à la santé.
