The present invention relates to a composition for alleviating and treating osteoporosis comprising Achyranthes bidentata Blume and ginseng extracts as active ingredients. The composition shows a complex effect of inhibiting differentiation of an osteoclast, increasing bone density and bone content, and enabling a microstructure of bone to be dense. By mixing each extract of the present invention, the composition inhibits cytotoxicity which a highly concentrated ginseng extract has compared to each extract alone. Accordingly, the composition can be widely used as a medicine and a health food useful for preventing or treating osteoporosis.본 발명은 우슬 추출물 및 인삼 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 골다공증 개선 및 예방용 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 파골 세포의 분화를 억제하는 효과, 골밀도 및 골함유량 증가 효과 및 뼈의 미세구조가 치밀해지는 효과를 동시에 볼 수 있는 복합효과를 나타내며, 본 발명에 각각의 추출물을 단독으로 사용하였을 경우보다 이들을 혼합하여 사용함으로써 고농도 인삼 추출물이 가지는 세포 독성을 방어할 수 있는 조성물로서, 골다공증 예방 또는 치료에 유용한 의약품 및 건강식품으로 널리 이용될 수 있다.
