PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove influence of disturbance light with high accuracy to identify a portion of an identification target of a face or an identification object with high accuracy.
SOLUTION: A face image in lighting time of a first light source 14 and a face image in lighting time of a second light source 16 are imaged by an imaging device 12. A characteristic amount related to a difference of each of a hair area and a skin area is calculated by a characteristic amount calculation part 27, and a correction amount is calculated by a correction amount calculation part 28 such that a distribution of the previously obtained characteristic amount related to each of the hair area and the skin area is acquired. The face image in lighting time of the second light source 16 is corrected by a correction part 30, and the characteristic amount related to the difference is calculated about each pixel by use of the corrected face image by the characteristic amount calculation part 27. Threshold value processing is performed to the calculated characteristic amount of each pixel by a candidate area extraction part 34 to extract a candidate area, and an area representing a black eye of the face is identified by a portion identification part 36.
