PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause a display unit to display an image showing a polarization state in such a way that a user can effectively confirm the image.SOLUTION: This image processing apparatus comprises: planar image acquisition means which acquires a planar image showing a polarization state of a subject tomographic image acquisition means which acquires a three-dimensional tomographic image composed of a plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images of the subject display control means which causes the display means to display an index indicating a position of a tomographic image to be displayed on the display means among the plurality of two-dimensional tomographic images, while superimposing the index on the planar image showing the polarization state and instruction means which gives an instruction to change a position of the index on the planar image showing the polarization state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
