An ascorbic acid derivative composition of the first aspect of the present invention consists of a salt of compound (1) represented by the following general formula (1) and a salt of compound (2) represented by the following general formula (2), wherein the ratio of the salt of the compound (2) to the total amount of the salt of the compound (1) and the salt of the compound (2) is 0.1 to 10 % by mass. (In the formula, R1 represents a straight chain or branched alkyl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms and R2 represents a straight chain or branched alkyl group having 6 to 20 carbon atoms.
