Die vorliegende Anmeldung offenbart ein kugelförmiges Produkt für den Einsatz in Nahrungsmitteln, gekennzeichnet durch(a) eine Hülle aus einem festen hydrophoben Material,(b) einen Kern aus einem hydrophilen Material,wobei die Hülle einen äußeren Durchmesser von 2,5 bis 15 mm aufweist sowie ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines solchen kugelförmigen Produkts.Spherical product (I) comprises a shell made of a solid hydrophobic material and a core of a hydrophilic material, where the shell has an external diameter of 2.5-15 mm. Independent claims are included for: (1) a food formulation comprising a foodstuff and (I); (2) the preparation of (I), comprising promoting the shell material in a liquefied state and the core material in a liquefied state through a nozzle such that a beam of the liquefied shell material with annular cross-section is formed concentrically around a beam of the core material and this concentric combined beam leaves and falls freely from nozzle in the direction of the gravitational force and a harmonic oscillation is coupled with the concentric combined beam from liquefied shell material and the core material, such that the concentric combined beam after leaving the nozzle is divided into droplets, cooling the formed droplets under the solidification temperature of the shell material to form (I) and collecting; and (3) the preparation of the food formulation comprising either mixing foodstuff and (I) or applying (I) on the surface of the foodstuff.
