PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction of engaging force of a male material provided on a front waist part.SOLUTION: There is provided an absorbent article 1 comprising a vertical direction, a lateral direction crossing the vertical direction, and a cross direction orthogonal to the vertical and lateral directions. The absorbent article comprises: a front waist part 20 along the lateral direction a rear waist part 30 along the lateral direction and a crotch part 10 provided between the front waist part 20 and the rear waist part 30. One end part 20eW1 in a lateral direction of the front waist part 20 and one end part 30eW1 in the lateral direction of the rear waist part 30 are jointed with a junction j1. A front side surface in the cross direction of the front waist part 20 has a male material 50 to which a female material 40 of the other end part 30eW2 in the lateral direction of the rear waist part 30 can be engaged. The front waist part 20 has a stretchable area AEL having flexibility in the lateral direction along the lateral direction.
