PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner for imaging probe which is used for imaging a tissue or structure of a mammal by using high resolution imaging including high frequency ultrasonic and/or optical coherence tomography.SOLUTION: An imaging probe 150 has an adjustable rotation drive mechanism for giving rotational movement to an imaging assembly which stores light radiating energy to a peripheral area or an ultrasonic transducer. The imaging assembly includes a scanner which has a movable member configured to transmit an energy beam along a path on the outer side of a slender hollow shaft at various angles to a longitudinal shaft, and gives front and side view performance of the imaging assembly. The movable member is attached with such a method that a variable angle is a function of angular velocity of the imaging assembly.【課題】高周波数の超音波及び／又は光コヒーレンストモグラフィーを含む、高分解能の撮像を用いて哺乳類の組織及び構造を撮像するために使用する撮像プローブのための走査機構を提供する。【解決手段】撮像プローブ１５０が、周囲領域にエネルギを放射する光又は超音波トランスデューサを収容する撮像アッセンブリに回転運動を与えるための調製可能な回転駆動機構を有している。撮像アッセンブリは、長手軸に対して様々な角度で細長い中空のシャフトの外側の経路に沿ってエネルギビームを送出するよう構成された可動部材を有する走査機構を有しており、撮像アッセンブリの前方及び側視性能を与える。可動部材は、可変角度が撮像アッセンブリの角速度の関数となるような方法で取り付けられている。【選択図】図１４ａ
