At least one proximal direction reflecting mirror (38, 40) being disposed within an interior of the cylindrical body (96) in proximity to the front aperture (97) for reflecting scattered light by the examined eye (E) on an optical axis (O 2 ) of the imaging optical system (14) to a direction proximate to an optical axis (O 1 ) of the illuminating optical system (12).
