FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to anus or stoma irrigation system and method of controlling said system. System comprises a flushing fluid reservoir, a catheter, a pipe system, a valve system, a pump, a user-controlled control interface. Catheter comprises catheter tip for insertion into rectum or stoma of user and to discharge flushing fluid from the tip and an expandable retention element for fixing the catheter tip inside the rectum or the user's stoma. Pipe system provides the first channel for flushing fluid between the reservoir and the catheter and the second channel for flushing fluid between the reservoir and the expandable retaining element. Valve system is located in the second channel and is intended for control of flow of flushing liquid between reservoir and expandable retaining element. Pump is configured to transfer flushing fluid from reservoir to catheter tip and comprises reversible electric pump. Pump and valve system allows selective pumping of liquid into expandable retaining element for its expansion, fluid is pumped through the catheter to release fluid from the catheter tip into the rectum or the user's stoma to extract fluid from the retention element for cleaning. Control interface comprises a dedicated emergency stop zone for receiving a user command. When a user instruction arrives, the pump and the valve system extract liquid from the retaining element for cleaning. Selected zone is available in all operating states of the system. Reversible pump is made with possibility of operation in one direction for pumping of liquid into expandable retaining element for its filling and with possibility of operation in reverse direction for extraction of liquid from expandable retaining element for its compression at receipt of user command in user-controlled control interface.
