PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric apparatus which can attain miniaturization without the need to provide a mechanical switch, and furthermore can reduce power consumption without the need to provide a highly accurate vibration sensor and in a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The biometric apparatus includes a detecting means for detecting that a person to be measured is placed on an electrode member which is arranged so as to come into contact with the person to be measured by determining whether at least two of the electrode members is electrified through the body of the person to be measured and a measuring means for measuring the biological information of the person to be measured.
