The medical imaging system includes a remote control assembly and a processing unit with one or more processors. The processing unit is configured to receive a rotational position indicator for the imaging device coupled to the remote steering assembly. The imaging device has an angle of view (e.g., 30 degrees) greater than 0 degrees with respect to the optical axis of the imaging device. The processing unit is further configured to obtain first image data from an imaging device coupled to the remote steering assembly at a first rotational position and acquire subsequent image data from an imaging device coupled to the remote steering assembly at a second rotational position.
