The present invention provides controlled-release monolithic matrix tablets for once daily administration, comprising bepotastine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof； a swellable polymer； and a specific release control agent, and a method for preparing the same. The controlled-release monolithic matrix tablets of the present invention exhibit an initial burst release pattern, and later exhibit a continuous release pattern, thereby enabling the once daily administration； and can achieve a release independent of the gastrointestinal environment and/or pH variations in the gastrointestinal tract due to food, thereby minimizing variations in absorption. Furthermore, the controlled-release monolithic matrix tablets exhibit bioequivalence as the conventional preparation administered twice daily.
