A dental implant assembly comprising a healing component 10, attached to a coronal end of a dental implant 40, and an impression component 20 is disclosed. Either of the healing abutment 10 and the impression coping 20 has an internal bore for receiving at least part of the other component 10, 20. The internal bore has an axial locator 16 that provides an endstop for relative axial movement between said components. A rotational locator 14, comprising a formation on an inner surface of the bore or a formation on the outer surface of either of the components 10, 20, limits the rotational movement between said components. The assembly allows an impression recording digital positional information about the dental implant to be taken without having to remove the healing component from the implant.
