The present invention relates to a dentifrice composition comprising:a) a polyphosphate salt in particulate form, the polyphosphate salt comprising a polyphosphate anion comprising at least 10 phosphate units andb) an orally acceptable carriercharacterised in that the polyphosphate salt has a particle size distribution wherein less than 10% by volume of the salt has a particle size of greater than 160 µm and less than 20% by volume of the salt has a particle size of less than 20 µm. The dentifrice composition has good stability and acceptable mouth feel.The invention further relates to orally acceptable polyphosphate salts for use in such compositions.
