An indicating device suitable forindicating the number of metered dosages thathave been dispensed from or remain in a containerincluding a base member (40), a cap member (20)moveably connected to the base member (40), anindicator member (60) rotatably mounted to oneof the cap member (20) and base member (40)and a drive member (86). The indicator member(60) comprises a first stop member (3004), and thedrive member (86) comprises a second stop member(3002). The first stop member (3004) engages thesecond stop member (3002) as the indicator member(60) is moved to the final position. The engagementbetween the first and second stop members (3004,3002) prevents the drive member (86) from beingrotated about the second axis. In another preferredembodiment, an inhalation device for dispensingmetered dosages of medicaments from a containerincludes a container having a predeterminednumber of metered doses and the indicatingdevice. A method for indicating the number ofmetered dosages of medicaments dispensed fromor remaining in the container is also provided.
