A human subject diagnosed with cancer has been previously diagnosed to enhance the likelihood that subsequent treatment with an anti-PD-1 molecule results in an anticancer response or to enhance the responsiveness of the subject's cancer to subsequent treatment with an anti-PD-1 molecule. The use of an IAP antagonist for treatment is disclosed.
