THE LIQUID COMPOSITION FOR THE ORAL CAVITY IS CHARACTERIZED IN THAT (A) A CATIONIC BACTERICIDE AND (B) A HYDROXYETHYL CELLULOSE DIMETHYL DIALLYLAMMONIUM CHLORIDE ARE ADDED TO A LIQUID COMPOSITION FOR THE ORAL CAVITY THAT IS SUBSTANTIALLY ETHANOL-FREE; (C) ANETHOLE IS ALSO USED AT A MASS RATIO OF COMPONENT (C)/[COMPONENT (A) + COMPONENT (B)] THAT IS WITHIN A RANGE OF 0.1 TO 10; AND (D) A POLYHYDRIC ALCOHOL AND/OR (E) NONIONIC SURFACTANT ARE ADDED. ALSO PROVIDED IS A METHOD FOR THE STABLE ADDITION OF COMPONENTS (A) AND (B) TO THE COMPOSITION WHEREBY COMPONENTS (A) AND (B) ARE ADDED TO THE LIQUID COMPOSITION FOR THE ORAL CAVITY, COMPONENT (C) IS ALSO USED WITHIN A RANGE OF (C)/[(A)+(B)] OF 0.1 TO 10; AND COMPONENTS (D) AND/OR (E) ARE ADDED.
