A method for diagnosing and treating cancer by using exosomes comprising miRNA and precursors thereof. For example, in some embodiments, cancer may be diagnosed or assessed by determining the amount of exosomal miRNA in a sample obtained from a subject, or by detecting miRNA processing in an exosome. Exosomes secreted by cancer cells are unique compared to non-cancerous exosomes, which contain a unique repertoire of miRNA and active RNA processing RISC complexes. Such encapsulated RNA-RISC complexes may also be utilized for cell-independent miRNA biogenesis and highly efficient mRNA silencing in target cells.miRNA及びその前駆体を含むエクソソームの使用による癌の診断及び処置方法。
